Caesarstone wins Wallpaper* Design Award 2019

Caesarstone, the global manufacturer of premium quartz surfaces, is delighted to be the recipient of a highly coveted Wallpaper* Design Award. Caesarstone 4601 Frozen Terra came out on top in the ‘Stealth Health’ category, aptly named for its recognition of materials that bring something clean, light and fresh to the design table.

Amy Heffernan, Interiors Director for Wallpaper* said: “Each year Wallpaper* editors look to find the very best design in their fields. This year Ceasarstone caught our creative eye. Frozen Terra has a nod to terrazzo with flecks of colours and transparent elements – it has a depth to it while remaining light and fresh. The new collection has focused well on current trends and offers a contemporary choice for many avenues.”

4601 Frozen Terra is a fresh, modern, industrial-inspired concrete-terrazzo fusion surface with sparsely distributed, irregular translucent aggregate and fine black basalt. The ‘concrete’ matt finish of this quartz surface creates an authentic, industrial ‘patina’.

Jon Stanley, VP Marketing for Caesarstone said: “We are very proud to have won such a prestigious award. The Wallpaper* Design Awards are one of the highest accolades in the design industry. Brands cannot simply enter. Instead, they are chosen by an esteemed judging panel which identifies the products and designers that have made a significant impact in the design world. Frozen Terra, launched in 2018 as a part of Caesarstone’s urban-inspired Metropolitan Collection, reimagines the classic terrazzo in an entirely new and modern way. We are delighted it has received the judges award.”

The Wallpaper Design Awards acknowledge only the very best in class designs. Each year, an elite panel sit in judgement over 11 special award categories. Caesarstone is in excellent company for 2019, featuring alongside some of the world’s most exciting new designers, products and projects including the BIG’s Gople Lamp, winner of ‘Life-Enhancer of the Year’ and the new Noma establishment, winner of ‘Best New Restaurant’. Other categories include ‘Best Domestic Design’ and ‘Best New Grooming Product’. The judging panel represented a diverse meeting of minds in the design industry; Bjarke Ingels, Neneh Cherry, Philippe Malouin, Do Ho So, Paula Antonelli and David Korins.

Caesarstone collaborators, Snarkitecture, were also shortlisted in the Designer of the Year category for exciting projects such as ‘Altered States’ unveiled at Milan Design Week 2018. Altered States saw hundreds of individually and intricately cut Caesarstone pedestals and surfaces representing the different states of water installed inside a crumbling palazzo.

The February edition of Wallpaper* (out now) highlights the winners of the coveted 2019 awards.
