Caesarstone launches 4043 Primordia

4043 Primordia’s organic appearance reflects topological strata; alluvial layers in stone created over aeons. The material combines these natural aspects with a rough finish, celebrating the beauty of patina and texture while reinventing the kitchen as a striking cooking space outfitted with chef-quality appliances and sophisticated accents.

4043 Primordia’s industrial look is accentuated by its unique imperfections; a theme common to each colour in Caesarstone’s Metropolitan Collection. Its cool grey complexion echoes the character of concrete, evoking a contemporary feel. Composed across its light grey base, soft mineral marks in off-whites and greys combine with darker veils of grey and brown to reflect the oxidised rusts found in nature. This authentic effect is completed by subtle traces of faint yellow and washed green, giving the surface more body.

Caesarstone Chief Designer, Mor Krisher, comments: “With its imperfections, delicate patinas, and rough texture, it has a truly unique beauty. The material plays in the boundaries between natural and industrial materials: when the natural starts to look industrial and when an industrial object ages and starts to look more organic.”

4043 Primordia’s visual details evoke the emotion of real stone, suited to kitchen worktops, splashbacks and cabinet cladding, as well as bathroom interiors. As a monumental island, its neutral palette is versatile, blending with other materials such as concrete and dark oak flooring. In industrial spaces, the surface is complemented by heavier elements such as corrugated steel, compressed grey felt, or industrial hardware in brushed or stainless metal. Raw terracotta tile adds an organic accent, while brighter shots of colour reveal surprising contrasts. These glowing tones, such as glazed ceramics in mustard yellow or dark jade, also dress the worktop, bringing a sense of warmth.

Jon Stanley, VP Marketing for Caesarstone UK says, “There is always a tremendous level of excitement around a new Caesarstone product launch and Primordia illustrates why. Brought to life by our outstanding inhouse R&D and manufacturing team, it applies Caesarstone’s strengths in trend research, design innovation and manufacturing prowess to powerful effect. Absolutely on trend and totally unique, Primordia takes surfaces to the next level.”

4043 Primordia was born from the extensive and continuous research conducted by Caesarstone’s inhouse design team in collaboration with some of the world’s foremost forecasters, not least Li Edelkoort, the renowned design and fashion trend guru.

Form Follows Food, is the highly anticipated 2019 trend book produced by Caesarstone together with Li Edlekoort. The book takes readers on a journey through the design and culinary worlds, exploring how the two have merged. Conceptual Concrete is one of the trends explored within in the book, illustrating how industrial-inspired concrete-stone hybrid surfaces are evolving, of which Primordia is a leading example.

4043 Primordia comes in rough concrete finish and will be available in standard slab size, in either 20mm and 30mm thickness. For more information, visit the 4043 Primordia colour page.
