Keep your surface safe

Step-by-Step Care

  1. Wipe the surface with a soft cloth or a non-abrasive scourer dipped in warm water with a mild detergent. Rinse with water, and dry with a soft cloth or paper towel.

  2. Always wipe up wet spills to prevent a patina from forming.

  3. Check each cleaning product on an inconspicuous area to ensure that it doesn’t damage the surface. Patina’s build-up may look like a light-coloured stain.

  4. Honed and Ultra Rough finishes are more prone to metal marks, fingerprints, and other signs of daily use, which can easily be removed with non-abrasive cleaning products such as CIF cream or Cilit Bang Bleach & Hygiene. Do not polish the surface with a polishing machine.

  1. Gently rub the area using a soft cloth or paper towel with an approved cleaner.

  2. Clean a larger area in a circular motion than the stain

  3. Rinse with water, and dry with a soft cloth or paper towel.

  4. Repeat this process if the stain is still visible.

  1. Dried spills and stains should be reanimated with water for several minutes before attempting recommended cleaning methods.

  2. Clean the surface with a damp cloth or paper towel.

  1. Rub gently with a latex eraser.

  2. Clean the surface with a damp cloth or paper towel.

  1. Place a Barkeeper’s Friend® power spray or oxalic acid on a damp cloth. Do not use an abrasive scourer.

  2. Wipe away very gently, in a circular motion.

  3. Rinse thoroughly with warm water, and dry with a soft cloth or paper towel.

  4. Follow these instructions carefully to avoid damaging the surface.

Top Care and Maintenance FAQ

Caesarstone worktops are designed to withstand the inevitable accidents that happen on a day-to-day basis. Simply clean with a non-abrasive soft soap and non-scratch scrub pad. Of course, Caesarstone quartz is tough – but it’s not indestructible. There are some tips and advice we recommend following to maintain perfect surfaces for many years to come:

Protection from hot temperatures

d_hot-temperaturesCaesarstone is more heat resistant, durable and hard-wearing than other stone surfaces, including most marbles and limestone. However, it does require protection from very high temperatures (above 150°C or 300°F) or sudden extreme temperature changes.

Ideally, we suggest that hot pots and pans never be directly placed on the surface. We also recommend a hot pad or trivet be placed under cooking units such as electric frying pans, crock pots or toaster ovens.

Stubborn stains and spills

d_food-stainsThe spills and stains of everyday life can usually be cleaned up effortlessly with mild detergent or cleaner and water. To remove stuck-on materials, gently scrape away the excess with a plastic putty knife or non-scratch pad and then wipe with warm water.

Nail varnish or chewing gum stains can be removed with denatured alcohol, rinsing thoroughly afterwards. For extra-stubborn stains, a non-scratch Scotch-Brite™ pad is recommended along with a non-abrasive cleaner, which won’t dull the surface shine.

Substances to avoid

d_rust-stainsLike any other surface, Caesarstone can be permanently damaged if exposed to strong chemicals and solvents that affect its physical properties.

Avoid the use of strong chemicals and solvents or highly abrasive cleaning agents such as oven/grill cleaners and dishwasher polishing agents that have high alkaline/pH levels (pH levels higher than 11).

d_water-stainsProducts containing oils or powders may leave a residue and should be rinsed off thoroughly.

Should your surface accidentally be exposed to any of these damaging products, rinse immediately with warm water to neutralise the effect.Never clean your Caesarstone surface with products that contain Trichlorethane or Methylene Chloride, such as paint removers or strippers.

Everyday spillages can easily be cleaned up with mild cleaning fluid and water. For more sticky substances, we advise gently scraping away the excess with a plastic putty knife or non-scratch pad and wipe with warm water. Nail varnish or chewing gum stains can be removed with denatured alcohol and a thorough rinse. For those extra-stubborn stains, we recommend using a non-scratch Scotch-Brite™ pad, along with a non-abrasive cleaner.

Avoid the use of strong chemicals and solvents or highly abrasive cleaning agents such as oven/grill cleaners and dishwasher polishing agents that have high alkaline/pH levels (pH levels higher than 11). Products containing oils or powders may leave a residue and should be rinsed off thoroughly. Never clean your Caesarstone surface with products that contain Trichlorethane or Methylene Chloride, such as paint removers or strippers.

Because we know that our Caesarstone worktops can withstand everything daily life throws at them, we offer a 25-year warranty across all of our products for complete peace of mind (register your warranty here). With the correct care and cleaning, your worktop should remain beautiful for years to come.

Whilst Caesarstone is tough, it is not indestructible – like any other worktop material, it can be permanently damaged if exposed to harsh chemicals or solvents. Similarly, it requires protection from sudden temperature changes and you should avoid applying excessive force or weight.

Some repairs may be restorable by a technical specialist. In the first instance, please contact the fabricator that provided your Caesarstone surface. If you are still having difficulties, contact the Caesarstone team directly on [email protected], including photographs showing the issue, and an explanation of the problem.

Caesarstone quartz will be delivered and installed with the correct finish for the worktop of your choice. If your quartz has a polished finish, this will already be applied and no further action needs to be taken to polish the surface yourself.

Honed finishes, as well as our Concrete and Rough concrete finish worktops which primarily live in our Metropolitan Collection, are tactile by design and do not require polishing.

Simply put, to keep your quartz looking as good as new, your Caesarstone surface will only require regular cleaning. For further advice on maintaining your worktop, see our guide to caring for quartz.
